Our mentee says …

I received a really great mentor! He is a co-founder of a company in a field similar to mine and was therefore perfectly able to accompany, motivate, encourage and advise me on my own way to self-employment as a coach. Now I myself lead the group of female doctoral students at MentorMe!

Dr. Anna-Maria Beck

Coach

Our mentee says …

This year, after several years as a mentor, I’m also taking part as a mentee for the first time – a decision I don’t regret. I’m learning so much, both as a mentee and as a participant in the various events. I have found a great sparring partner in my mentor. I am happy to be part of this inspiring community.

Was soll ich tun?
Was soll ich tun?

What Our Mentees Have Achieved in the Mentoring Program

5 Stars

MentorMe helped me get out of a real slump. The mentoring, in particular: I can discuss the specific challenges of my new leadership role with my mentor, and she always gives me honest, helpful insights and, above all, direction. The events and training sessions constantly provide new inspiration.

Lisa Schiermeier
5 Stars

“My first session with my new mentor was truly eye-opening for me and encouraged me to quit my old job and take a new one. If you’re supposed to bring just five people into your life who will help you move forward, see things clearly, and grow, then a mentor is exactly one of those people.”

Denise Neumann
5 Stars

“I have a fixed monthly mentoring program with MentorMe that’s tailored exactly to my needs. On top of that, I have access to a huge community and expert knowledge. The program is extremely flexible. You can put together your own personal growth package there.”

Mentoring FAQ

What is a mentor?
A mentor is a person with a solid professional background, a subject matter expert who has plenty of work experience. Mentors help you achieve your professional goals by providing valuable insights into your work situation and sharing their experience with you.

They also help expand their mentee’s professional network and sharpen their focus. Our mentors have at least 5 years of work experience in an industry or profession (this does not include trainee or internship positions). When matching mentors to mentees, we ensure that the mentor has more professional experience and knowledge of a profession or industry than the mentee does, but do not consider their respective ages or degrees.

What does mentoring mean?
Mentoring is an opportunity to grow professionally. An experienced person (the mentor) provides advice and counsel regarding professional life to a person with less experience (the mentee).

Mentors pass on their professional experience, knowledge and contacts to the mentee. Their mission is to support the mentee as a sparring partners for job-focused questions, concerns and goals. They are available to talk through any questions they might have.

How long does the program take?
The program starts as soon as mentee and mentor are matched and ends on 31st October 2024.
How much time do I have to invest?
We ask our mentors to meet with theirs mentees at least 1 hour per month. If you both agree on it, you can also meet more frequently.

As a mentee you should prepare your mentoring sessions in order to get the most out if it.

What is the difference between mentoring and coaching?
Coaching and mentoring are both valid professional development methods. As a general rule, mentoring is set up to be a long-term opportunity and based on the relationship between the mentor and the mentee, while coaching is more of a short-term experience. A mentor provides advice based on their own experience, whereas a coach uses a variety of methods learned during their professional training.
Why should I join this mentoring program?
Mentees sign up for mentoring in order to get ahead professionally, hence, to overcome their obstacles, such as lack of know-how or contacts, and to reach their next career steps and professional goals. Mentors want to share their professional knowledge with the next generation.

If both mentor and mentee take their responsibilities seriously, mentoring can be the key to a mentee’s professional success and a great way for the mentor to make an impact.

who is looking for a match.

*Our 2026/27 program year officially runs from November 2026 through the end of October 2027. However, we begin matching mentees as early as August. Please note that we have about three times as many mentors as mentees in our network, and we cannot guarantee that you will be matched with a mentee. As a mentor, however, you are a valuable member of our community and have full access to our community groups and events.

That’s what our mentors say

“I’m a mentor because I truly enjoy helping people—and women in particular—develop their careers, working with them to figure out what ‘really’ suits them, where their passion lies, and what makes their hearts beat faster. Plus, if my mentee is interested in the higher education sector, I can share a lot of knowledge with her: experiences, insights, and practical tips…”

Alessa Münch, Partner Change, Communication, Learning & Leadership | People Consulting at EY

“I’m a mentor at MentorMe because I see it as my duty to support women with my knowledge and more than 10 years of experience. Of course, everyone has to gain their own experience, but I’ve faced a few challenges at work that I could have handled better—but didn’t know how at the time. I’m a mentor out of conviction!”

Christina Richter, personal branding and PR expert

My goal is to inspire mentees to pursue careers in male-dominated fields. I am very happy to be part of MentorMe. The communication is great, and the events also help all of us, including me as an expert at Coca-Cola. I’d be happy to participate again. As part of the job interview training, I can provide constructive feedback on what mentees can do to improve during job interviews.”

Marcus Radeck, Human Ressources Manager
